Teacher Education for Working with
Inclusive Education in School
All children are different but some are more than others (those with physical, mental, or social differences). This, however, is not a reason to exclude them from mainstream education process. By paying attention to various aspects of successful inclusive education as well as by developing a common module in teacher education on inclusive learning, we think there is a real chance to improve competencies of the becoming teachers.
We suggest that there should be a prospect that mainstream school system will take the outset in a single child, thereby developing the capacity to both absorb and support a greater number of excluded children in general.
Inclusive education is a two-way road. School co-operation with parents is as essential as the internal coordination amongst teachers, professionals, and support staff. First, parents need support in becoming aware of their role as a parent whose child is with special needs. Second, parents must be regarded as active partners in decision-making process.
